My World

Moon

Saturday, August 08, 2009

Last excellent film I watched was Moon with only Sam Rockwell and it was truly wonderful. The mood it set, which was akin to 80s and the melancholy and loneliness. I particularly enjoyed the music and the relationship between clone Sam and clone Sam number 2, the way they hate and desipse one another, petty arguments, then friendship and love. Also, the computer, which showed emotion towards the end, albeit in the computer terms and the fact that this could actually happen. Rather poignant end. Loved the scene where he calls his daughter and after the call, he cries and the planeth Earth loomes large in the sky. Very lovely film.
