Golden door

This is how it all happened: I presented Karolina with a choice of two films and she chose this one. I didn’t find out what it was all about and neither was she although she clearly gave me an impression she did. Film starts slowly and in the beginning one feels the pull towards suicide but then it opens up into an amazingly touching and magical story that becomes really interesting and funny. Was it done like that on purpose to awaken the bored public and introduce splendour at the crucial moment of no return (always more memorable than splendour that happens from the beginning) or was it just so? This is a very touching film with an artistic and dreamy feel to it.
