Everything is illuminated

I have not seen anything this good in a long while. The cast is absolutely perfect. Eugene Hutz , who plays Alex, is a front man of Gogol Bordello, which I only realised at the end of the film. He was superb.
It is hard to say what it is about apart that it is about searching, but there is a vicious dog in it called Sammy Davis Junior Junior. Alex describes her as 'deranged but so so playful'.
I am a little stuck for words, because there were so many quirky moments in it that it is hard to just pick one and say this is great.
Amazing film, total dream quality.
