My World

Wolf Creek (or more appropriately...Shit creek)

Sunday, October 02, 2005

OK, so what is up with scary movies these days? Just came from seeing Wolf creek and all I can say is gore, gore and gore.
Is nobody making scary movies no more? Does it all boils down to just cutting people with knives and spurting blood like crazy?
Or is it me?
It actually put me off eating a fancy cake and that is pretty bad I’d say.
I am thinking mystery, volatile people, maniacs that exist among us as if they were sane, big rats that take over the city, bacteria that poison a water supply and threaten to wipe out the civilisation if not for just one brave scientist...that kind of thing, that is scary, and full of suspense.
I am craving that and all I get is distasteful, gory scenes that cause me distress and loss of appetite.
Could be a great diet tool I guess if one is exposed to it 24/7.

I've been up that creek but I didn't have a paddle tho - now that is scary!!

Wolfie was just horror with no suspense whatsoever. If I go to a horror I expect lots of screams and scares with people jumping out of their seats (and not because I have just walked in to find my seat!)

... None of that when I saw the film. Not too much squirming either....

However, I did enjoy it and was able to eat the supplies that I had taken into the dark void of the cinema no problem.
